Br. Batchu Koteswara Rao is born in Peddapuram on July 28th, 1949 in the town of Peddapuram, state of Andhra Pradesh, India. He went to Sri Muppana Veeraraju High School and graduated in the year 1963 with honors and first rank. He went to Andhra Loyola college at Vijayawada and Banares Hindu University, Varanasi(Kasi). He obtained his MBBS from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam with a distinction in Internal Medicine. He did his 2 year Residency in Pediatrics at Wellington Hospital in
New Delhi and immigrated to USA in 1976. He finished 2 two year residency in Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago and Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL and Board Certified in Pediatrics.
He started his private Practice in Downers Grove at Good Samaritan Hospital Prof Building tower 1 #4B, in Pediatrics and Family Medicine in the year 1980. He has 3 grown up children, Rachael, a 4th gr teacher in Naperville, Amy MS and MBA designing works at Seattle, and SarahRose a senior at Downers Grove North High School.
Dr Batchu founded Batchu Foundation in 1982 for the development of his home town Peddapuram in south India and Volunteered and founded Bhopal Mobile Clinic at height of the Union Carbide gas plant explosion tragedy in 1983. He met Mother Teressa and organized Bhopal gas disaster relief for Missionaries of Charity. He founded the first all digital Internet based modern residential high school popularly called IMSA(International Math and Science Academy) for k to 12 in Peddapuram, his home town. http://www.imsa.com/
He is currently working on a new project for the Elementary School Children of 3,500 a new Educational & Recreational Knowledge Park, After school "Knowledge Park School". A building complex when finishe might cost 2 million US dollars.
